Several students were selected for the Wayne Honor Band they are as follows: Staci R., Molly Z., Alyssa D., Paige T., Shayna D., Jessica M., Samantha C., Julie W., Marcus W., Jon L., Scott R., and Tom L. This is the largest amount of students we have had make the Wayne Honor Band so Cong rats to the students for their hard work and extra practice for the audition.

9-12 students and sponsors should have received their letter for the Chicago Tour update. Please remember your Deposit Fee due February 15th. If you have any questions please call the school. We have added 3 concession stand fund raisers to the schedule and completed our first with a total of $736. Thanks for the help and we have 2 more in mid January coming up, please sign up to help.

Our annual 5-12 Instrumental Dinner Concert will be held February 18. We will be setting up a schedule very soon. Expect a phone call from the Band Council members organizing this event. Remember that the funds raised for the 5-8th will support their trips in high school and the 9-12 funds will support the tour planned this year. Tickets will go on sale in the next 2 weeks.

We are gearing up for the Malcolm Contest. Music will be handed out for small groups next week. The students have 3 weeks to prepare and learn their music. We will then audition February 1-5 and announce the results. Currently we have over 60 groups auditioning, good luck to everyone.

Students in 5-12 Band are highly encouraged to come in before or after school in Murdock for lessons and help with music. All you need to do is contact Mr. Hanson and the office to setup a time to come in. This is a great opportunity to improve your skills.
