Lunch Program Begins
1945

The school lunch program started in 1945 with Mrs. Frannie Fisbee as head cook. Henry Bornemeier donated the gas range, Henry Linder donated a kitchen sink, and other parents donated pots, pans, dishes, and silverware. Elmwood student, Gene Kuhn, brought the milk to school with him in a 5 gallon cream container.
