The “Walk Through Time” project was developed in the summer of 2005 as a way to chronicle the history of the Elmwood and Murdock schools before the consolidation in 1991. Students in grades 3, 5, 6, and 8 were responsible for researching the period of the time before the consolidation using interviews, pictures, videos, GPS readings, and research of old articles and yearbooks provided by patrons and alumni. Students developed a list of people with knowledge of the previous schools and created a website to chronicle the history.

The first Murdock school was built in 1892 and was a two story building also used for church services. In 1972, the Murdock school celebrated Arbor Day. The students went out to a farm outside of town. Here they dug up trees to plant by the school. |
