Members and officers of the Elmwood-Murdock Chapter of FBLA have increased their managerial and organizational skills. These aspects of chapter operation are essential for a productive, efficient organization. |

Summer Officer Meeting
On July 26, 2004, the newly elected 2004-2005 officers met at the Elmwood-Murdock High School business room. The agenda for the meeting included discussion on the following items: chapter theme, National Leadership Conference, National Fall Leadership Conference, and the Nebraska State Leadership Conference. |

Program of Work
The local officers took part in a summer executive meeting in order to plan for the upcoming year. The local theme was set as “Turn It Up With FBLA.” Local goals were also set. |

Video Flashback

Scrapbook/Yearbook
Local historian, Angie Buck, spent hours creating a well-organized scrapbook for State Conference. Some of the pictures taken for the scrapbook will also be utilized in the school yearbook. |

Publication Distribution
Tomorrow’s Business Leader and the Pledge, national and state publications, were used to inspire ideas and activities for chapter involvement. Chapter reporter, C.J. Ronhovde, assembled the Gazette, a compilation of short explanations about FBLA activities. |

Parliamentary Procedure
All regular and special meetings in 2004-2005 were conducted according to parliamentary procedure. ROBERT’S RULES OF ORDER, NEWLY REVISED, was used to guide the officers in running meetings efficiently. Officers prepared a skit and enacted different motions each month during a time called, “Parli Pro Moments” to help members understand parliamentary procedure.

A point system was devised by the officers, approved by the chapter, and maintained by the recording secretary, Nicole Backemeyer. This system was also used as a reference to determine which members would attend the Nebraska State Leadership Conference.

5 Attendance at evening meetings/business attire
3 Attendance at evening meetings/no business attire
