This was a year of great achievements for the 2003 - 2004 cheerleaders with five new members and two returning. They had a lot to accomplish in a little amount of time. During the summer they went to UCA (Universal Cheerleading Association) Cheerleading camp in Lincoln for the first time in two years. In doing this they received a 1st Place Trophy and an opportunity to go to Hollywood to march in a holiday parade, but did not get to do this because of the cost. They also marched with the Elmwood-Murdock Marching Band at the Cass County Parade, which they had never done before. They also got the great chance to cheer at State Football Playoffs, Girls State Basketball, and Boys State Basketball Tournament. During the Boys State Basketball Tournament they had a great opportunity to perform twice while there. The First Round at Lincoln Northstar, performing the School Song, and then the following day at Pershing Auditorium performing their "Extreme Routine."
This was an extraordinary bunch of girls they were all willing to work hard to complete what needed to be done they purchased uniforms for $700 as a team coming to only $100 per girl. They got their uniforms at Team Leader. The uniforms only cost $88.00 per girl but then you add bags and coats in and there you get the total of $100. The girls stayed busy doing locker signs and planning several Pep-Rally's. The Pep-Rally's were always fun and made many students laugh. But the over all fun that the girls had was probably on the van rides to the games and to cheerleading camp. Who could forget when they showed up for their first day of camp in shorts and t-shirts and all the other girls look like "Barbie's" and when they got their first Spirit-Stick they thought that the cheerleaders there had seen Bring It On just one to many times when they dropped the Spirit-Stick as a joke and another cheerleader turned to her friend and said, "Oh my gosh they just dropped the Spirit-Stick!" They always found something funny to talk about or look at and for the most part got along quite well.
