Welcome to the Virtual Main Street Website. The purpose of this website is to initiate a discussion about starting businesses in small towns while enticing entrepreneurs to consider starting a business in the Elmwood-Murdock community in Nebraska. This website contains basic information on buildings located on the main street of Elmwood and contains the results of a community survey on the “most-wanted” businesses in the Elmwood-Murdock area.

Along the left side of the screen you will see twelve different business opportunities. These are the most desirable businesses, according to a community survey of over 900 households in the area. By clicking on one of these buildings, you will be brought to a page with a conceptual renovation to an existing Elmwood main street building. Thankfully, many of these buildings are already inhabited with thriving businesses; but nonetheless, they are representative of businesses that may prosper whether they are located at the existing building or at some other site available for development (on or off Elmwood’s or Murdock’s Main Street).
